Let's face it, mealtime battles with toddlers are a real thing. As a parent of two, I understand the struggle all too well. My son and I are adventurous eaters, but my darling daughter? Well, let's just say she has a… unique relationship with her vegetables.

Determined to get some extra green goodness into her diet, I embarked on Operation Juice Up! My mission: to create a fun and engaging experience that would entice my daughter to embrace some hidden nutrients.

Family Fun, Kitchen Chaos:

So, we gathered in the kitchen, my little sous chefs in tow, ready to conquer the juicer. We had a blast prepping the ingredients! My daughter gleefully chopped (well, kind of chopped) some apple slices, while my son proudly displayed his washed kale leaves. For this project, I used the fantastic Jocuu Slow Masticating Juicer, which not only gets the job done efficiently but is also easy to clean – a major win for busy parents!

Green Goodness & Sunshine in a Glass:

For the green juice, we combined a winning mix of fruits and veggies:

  • Ingredients:

  • 1 cup pineapple, chopped

  • 1 green apple, chopped

  • 1/2 lemon, juiced

  • 1 celery stalk, chopped

  • 2 kale leaves

  • 2 kiwis, peeled and chopped

Sunshine in a Sip:

The vibrant green color was enough to pique my daughter's curiosity. For the orange juice, we used a cheerful mix of fruits and a surprising veggie for added sweetness:

  • Ingredients:

  • 6 oranges, peeled

  • 1 cup pineapple, chopped

  • 1 1/2 lemon, juiced

  • 6 small carrot, chopped

The Big Reveal (and Seconds!):

The moment of truth arrived. My daughter, with a healthy dose of skepticism, took a sip of the green juice. To our utter amazement, her eyes widened! She loved it! She not only finished the entire glass, but she also requested more! The orange juice received equally enthusiastic approval.

More Than Just a Drink:

This wasn't just about a healthy drink – it was about creating a fun and positive experience around food. My daughter was actively involved in the process, making her more invested in the end result. And the best part? She was munching on apple slices while we juiced, something she wouldn't normally touch!

A New Family Ritual:

Operation Juice Up! was a resounding success. Not only did it boost my daughter's veggie intake, but it also created a joyful family activity. Needless to say, this cold-pressing adventure is now a permanent fixture in our kitchen routine.
